Apple is looking forward to simplify and change the branding and way it names successive iPhone generations this year, 2018.
In the investor note, Guggenheim Robert Cihra, from the analyst company, says Apple will use the upcoming cycle to change the iPhone naming pattern.
Moreover, this would only happen to the successors of IPhone 8 and 8 Plus – the flagship would keep its X suffix to denote its standing.
Do not be shocked that Apple is trying to make a new naming pattern because making a name change is not something new to Apple. The company has been playing with the new iPad and numbers for its tablets, which had delivered more confusion than simplifying.
Robert also revealed that Apple ultimately cannot outgrow what is now a no-growth smartphone market as the company is unlikely to increase its iPhone sales. Moreover, he added that Apple will keep up the revenue because of the increased average selling price of the latest iPhones.
