Microsoft has finally turn off push notifications on Windows Phone 7.5 and 8.0

Last year, Microsoft announced that it will end the production of Windows phone. Just recently, on February 20th to be specific, Microsoft announced again to end push notifications on Windows phone 7.5 and Windows phone 8.0.

Turning off push notifications means that devices running Windows phone 7.5 and 8.0 will no longer receives notifications, live tiles will no longer update and the “find my phone” feature will no longer work or function. Microsoft says that since both phones has reached the end of their support, these services are now able to be discontinued over time.

However, users on the Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 operating system will still receive push notifications but once support comes to end for those devices, it’s likely for Microsoft to as well turn off push notifications for them.

The best advice here is for Microsoft phone users to upgrade or switch to a newer phone because the future of Windows has ended.
