According to the information contained on the telecoms regulator’s monthly subscriber/operators website revealed by NCC – Nigeria Communications Commission, says that MTN Nigeria had 52.3 million subscribers as of December 31, 2017, with 42.1 market share.

MTN Nigeria still remains the Africa’s largest telecommunications as it has bounce back to profitability with $278.2 million net income from last year 2017.

The company added 2.5 million new subscribers between June and December 2017 in Nigeria and recorded a total of 217.2 million globally at the end of the financial year.

MTN Nigeria was fined $5.1 billion by NCC for failing to disconnect improperly registered SIM cards. This action greatly affected MTN Nigeria company’s finances in 2015 to 2016. However, the financial result has shown that MTN has bounce back to profitability and has addressed the situation.

9mobile’s share fell by a little more than 200,000 subscribers but other networks like Airtel and Glo, however gained more subscribers.
