Multichoice DSTV and Gotv to shut down by June 2019

Many companies shutting down: Konga sold and shut down, OLX shut down and here comes DSTV and GOTV, from the great Multichoice company.

The management of Multichoice DSTV and Gotv may have been notified by the Federal Government that their operation in Nigeria, will come to an end in 2019 as their operation license expires June 2019, next year.

According to a letter issued on Tuesday by the Nigeria Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC), says the license issued to them in 2014 by NBC will not renewed because it was not in line with Digital Switch Over (DSO) White Paper.

So, the only option left for Multichoice DSTV/GOTV to ever operate in Nigeria after license expiration, is to go to Licensed Signal Distribution Company, that is Pinnacle Communications Ltd or ITS.

GOTV has been accused of being used as a channel or conduit to siphon foreign exchange from Nigeria by it parent company, South African Company DSTV.

  1. This company has been running corrupt practices in Nigeria since ages. It’s only more sad that our corrupt country has been aiding them to steal from our people

  2. Huh..! Many companies are now giving different news based on shutting down their companies in Nigeria.. Wish a lot of business companies that would be interested and best for us to come in the near future. Thanks for your concern about us.

  3. But I think they should find a good solution for their problems is better than them just living us like that without not bringing any alternative services.. Torr! I hope all will go well. Thanks for the info.
