For years now, Samsung has maintained its stranglehold at the top as the number one leader among android smartphone makers.
In terms of both hardware and software, their position as the leader is unassailable. This has led many OEMs to copy some of their designs and even use their monikers as names for some of their phones. Thus we have brands like Elephone giving their phones names like S7, S8 and Umidigi with S2 among others.
However, aside the quality of their hardwares in phones, one of the outstanding thing about Samsung is their launcher and the quality of their software package.
Today, we are glad to inform you that those who find the Google Chrome, Firefox and phone manufacturers’ browser underwhelming now have even a better option. The Samsung Internet Browser Beta is now available for other android users. For a while the company has it on Google Play store, but it hardware compatibility was still limited, requiring Samsung or Google Nexus phones with at least android 5.0 Lollipop on board.
Now any Android device with lollipops on board can run this piece of code, although it is still in beta stage. Aside Samsung devices, the browser was initially available earlier this year for Nexus and Pixel devices.
Now, the latest update for Samsung Internet Browser Beta brings the app’s version number up to version 6.2.00.38, but this is still a beta release.
Here are its highlights:
- Sync with non- Samsung devices.
- Easy access to content blockers.
- High Contrast Mode.
- Chromium engine upgrade to M56.
- CSS Grid.
- Experimental new features such as WebVR, Web Bluetooth, Web GL2, and Gamepad Extensions.
If you want to report any bugs, you can send an email to email@example.com to inform the company of your observation.
