War as CoolPad sued Xiaomi over patent infringements

Stealing other people’s patent without permission is illegal and against the law. Coolpad – Shenzhen based company, sued Xiaomi for infringing User Interface (UI) patents, including Muti-SIM card design.

According to the lawsuit in a Jiangsu province court, it stated that Xiaomi devices copied “basic communication, display and interactive functions of mobile phones that are difficult to circumvent or replace“.

Jiang Chao – Coolpad group CEO, and Syed Tajuddin – CEO of Coolpad India, stated that they will do everything possible to protect their patent.

However, this was after Coolpad’s Subsidiary Yulong Computer Telecommunication Scientific demands Xiaomi companies to immediately cease manufacturing and sales of the following mobile phones – Mi Note 3, Mi 5X, Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Redmi Note 4X and Mi Mix 2.

Moreover, there’s no response yet from Xiaomi.

Do you think is right to steal and make money from someone’s idea without permission? Meanwhile, let’s hear from the two companies and know if it’s true or not?

Such things are very common in China. Too many brands, it’s unavoidable but shouldn’t be so
